Dave & Buster’s in Maryland Heights was the site of Mills-A-Palooza, the annual Mills Properties company party, last week. Communities across the Mills portfolio closed early for the day so that our associates could enjoy some costumed fun, friends, food and Skee Ball.
For Mills-A-Palooza 2018, superheros were the name of the game and the Mills team sure had some fun with that theme. Quailman came in from Columbia, The Guardians of the Galaxy made the trek over from Kirkwood Bluffs. The Incredible Hulk made an appearance. Captain America was in attendance times two and our human resources team came dressed as American superheros, among other fun costumes.
After dining on a great buffet featuring nachos, sliders, mini-pizzas and salad, our associates sat down for a great presentation from Kirk Mills and the 5th Annual Mills Awards. Service awards were also given out for those who have been with us for five, ten and fifteen years. Two members of the Mills family were also recognized for being with us for more than 20 years!
Every employees’ name was put into a jar and names were pulled at random to win attendance prizes. This year’s big winners had their choice of some really fabulous prizes including two 50″ Smarts tvs, a Roomba, a Kindle Fire, an XBOX One bundle, vacation days, gift cards and more.
After the awards and attendance prizes were given out the attendees spread out to enjoy each other’s company and play some games. In the spirit of March Madness and the SEC Tournament on the televisions around the venue, a few of the guys made a friendly competition out of the basketball game. There were also intense games of Skee Ball, auto racing and maybe even a dance battle or two.
A total of 37 people were nominated for awards this year, which you can see below. Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees.
In addition to those awards a Best Dressed winner was also chosen. The 2018 Mills-A-Palooza Best Dressed award went to Jessica Holloway from Kirkwood Bluffs. See her costume in the slideshow below.
