Big Changes Are Coming To Park Clayton Apartments

Last week, Park Clayton Apartments in Dogtown, hosted a small party to show off some big changes coming soon. Park Clayton was built in 1967, and while it lacks some common amenities such as a community pool and covered parking, it makes up for them in personality and location.

Park Clayton is a small community with only 104 apartments, which makes for a very friendly, neighborly environment. It sits in the heart of the historical Irish neighborhood of Dogtown. The neighborhood hosts the biggest and best St. Patrick’s Day parade in the city. It has become an annual tradition for St. Patrick’s Day festival goers to stop by the property on their route to the parade to take photos and get some luck…or beads from the Park Clayton leprechaun, also known as Mike, their maintenance manager. It is also located near the most prominent universities in St. Louis: Wash U and SLU, and is within walking distance to the St. Louis Zoo as well as other amenities in Forest Park.

Inside the walls of the buildings, which are over 40 years old, is a vibrant, youthful community and Park Clayton wanted to offer apartments that represented that. They recently began renovations which will offer modern finishes and up-to-date features to enhance the community. This is a project that residents are very excited about, so resident manager, Jeannie, decided to host a special event to showcase the new apartments and share the progress. In addition to seeing the new features, residents were able to enjoy a caricature artist, cake, beverages, and fun giveaways.

The apartment interior renovations will include: wood-look floors, ceiling fans, stand-up showers in master bathroom in two bedroom floor plans, combo unit washer & dryer in one bedroom floor plans, new bathroom vanities and lighting, granite or marble counter tops, 2-panel doors, modern cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. A few apartments have already been renovated, however the project officially begins January 2016. The current plan is for 5 units to be completed at a time, each planned to take about a month. The Mills team and residents of Park Clayton are very excited for this project and look forward to giving the apartment interiors a fresh look to match the spirit and energy of the community.

In addition to the apartment interiors, Park Clayton may be seeing some updates to the office and fitness center in 2016. You can follow the progress on the Park Clayton Apartments Facebook page.
