Each month, the Mills Properties community joins together to acknowledge the hard work of our amazing associates. Based on nominations by their fellow associates, a spotlight winner is chosen each month. It is our pleasure to congratulate the winner of our November Associate Spotlight, Hilary O’Brien, from Peachtree Apartments! Hilary joined the Mills Family in December 2013 as the Assistant Manager at West End Terrace. In May of 2014, she was promoted to Property Manager at Peachtree and has done amazing things with the financial well-being of the community!

Hilary was nominated by her Senior Regional Manager, Barbara Schuette, for her outstanding work; specifically, Hilary flipped the community’s negative NOI to a positive in 4 months’ time. She also organized a complete overhaul of the leases that were expiring in the fall/winter months in order to minimize the property’s occupancy exposure. And renewal averages have increased 20% across the board!

The owner of the property wrote to Barb and said that Peachtree had never looked better or performed better in the years since he has owned it. During her time outside of work, Hilary has been grappling with being a first time home buyer and is desperately trying to find her green thumb. For Christmas this year, she’s deciding between getting a puppy or preserving her newly installed floors (we think she should go for the puppy!). Hilary has also already made her 2015 New Year’s resolution, and while she claims it’s unoriginal, it sounds good to us – she wants to take a vacation!
