It’s a new year – and a new opportunity to continue spotlighting our awesome associates!  January’s winner was nominated by Jenn Robinson, Regional Manager, and is a Maintenance Technician from Waterford West. Please join us in congratulating Octavio Mendez!

Octavio began his career with Mills as a Groundskeeper in 2006 and has worked his way up to Maintenance Tech II – Octavio is a hard worker and enjoys taking on new challenges.  He always looks for ways to reduce expenses while still offering amazing customer service to his residents; there have been many occasions where Octavio has offered to complete work on the property rather than calling an outside contractor. Many of these jobs that he offers to do are not “ideal” jobs; however, that doesn’t deter Octavio. No matter what the job is, he completes it with a positive attitude and a contagious smile.  Octavio is a leader to his maintenance team and is always willing to help them out – in fact, many of his coworkers count on him for assistance or additional on the job training.

When he’s not hard at work, Octavio loves spending time with his wife, daughters, and his son, Octavio Jr., who was recently welcomed into his family.
