Six maintenance professionals represented Mills in the 2015 Maintenance Mania contest at Paragon Certified Restoration on November 5. The local Maintenance Mania competition is put on by the St. Louis Apartment Association. It is part of the larger Maintenance Mania national competition put on by the National Apartment Association.

On the day of the regional competition, participants compete in eight overall events. In seven of those events, competitors are timed as they perform various job-related tasks like faucet installation, flush toilet conversion or a key control deadbolt test. The eighth event, the Motorola Race Car Competition, actually starts days before the competition day as they build their own individual toy race car, commonly referred to as a “Pinewood Derby Car”. The cars are then raced and judged on competition day.

Representing Team Mills at Maintenance Mania were Mike Kullman, Donald Kalleck, John White-Antelope, Octavio Mendez, Tom Horton and Nick Meyer. On normal work days, you can find these men at various Mills communities such as Park Clayton, Columbia Crossing, Pear Tree and Waterford West. Many other members of the Mills family were also on hand in Chesterfield to cheer on Team Mills.

Donald Kalleck, who traveled in from Columbia, Missouri for the competition, was the overall winner of the event. He now qualifies for the 2016 Maintenance Mania National Championship, which will be held during the 2016 NAA Education Conference & Exposition on June 17th, 2016 in San Francisco, California.
