Mills Properties says Thank You for Making a Difference in St. Louis!

Mills Properties associates and residents rallied together to brighten the holiday season for St. Louis area families this year in partnership with the 100 Neediest Cases Program and the United Way of Greater St. Louis!  This program helps many St. Louis families find a reason to celebrate the season and offers hope for the coming year.

“Since this is the toughest economy most people have seen in their lifetime, I wasn’t sure what to expect when we asked our residents to donate cash and gifts to our 20 adopted families,” said Jan Wiesler, Senior Vice President of Operations for Mills Properties.  “I am humbled by the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by our residents and associates to make the season bright for our families.  It is the heartfelt generosity of our residents that have allowed Mills Properties to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these 20 families this holiday season.  We thank all the Mills residents and associates from the bottom of our hearts!”

Mills Properties communities collected over $5000 through our Add-a-Buck program and so many generous residents and associates donated other items including brand new bikes, furniture, washers, dryers, stoves, and so much more to our adopted families!  What a wonderful experience to see the Mills Properties family come together to provide holiday cheer for those in need.

Mills Properties also made an outstanding effort to support the Shalom House this year!  Our associates did a great job supplying household necessities, food, gifts, and clothes for those in desperate need of the things we often take for granted.

“Non-profit organizations have been hit hard this year,” said Sharmyn Calhoun, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Risk Management.  “Virtually all of their cash and in-kind donations have ceased or dried up but the need is still there to help individuals that are struggling in St. Louis during these challenging economic times.  I was moved to tears to see how our donation made such an impact on the women who call the Shalom House their temporary home.”

Mills Properties was honored to partner with these great St. Louis-based organizations as part of our Mills Cares philosophy; we thank the 100 Neediest Cases and the Shalom House for providing such a great service to our community and for allowing us to be part of it!

Thank You All for Helping Make a Difference in St. Louis!
